Élan Lévy, better known as The Coyote, is a writer and musician.

The venues of his upbringing were an American suburb on the western coast and a Native American reservation on the Mexican border. There, a coyote got the better of his first dog. And in the shadow of a broken-down church, so the story goes, he encountered a ghost.

Since that night, echoes of the past have served as an enigma and a marvel to him and have set the tone for his work. From his novels to his albums, The Coyote pays homage to the olden-days of California — its indigenous people, golden beaches, doddered chaparral, and rich history.

As an artist, his motivation is to show a doorway to the unknown, stimulating others to enter — boldly.
